Harris Woodbridge Reserve
WildCookham has taken its first steps in practical engagement with local habitats with our first foray into reserve management. This came with the opportunity to take on responsibility for the Harris Woodbridge Reserve, a small area of old garden/woodland off Dean Lane in Cookham Dean, owned by the Parish Council.
It was very overgrown when we took it over but already several working party days have brought more light into the land to encourage some of the hidden plants to grow and space cleared for more wildlife to move it. Mike Day has taken on the leadership for this exciting project . We plan to encourage the area as a wild garden, with at least monthly working party days as well as help from others, including the Windsor & Maidenhead Conservation Volunteers, for the ‘heavy lifting’.
